Jahvon Pierre
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist - AMFT
Hi, I’m Jahvon (juh-von) Pierre, a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with over 2,700 hours of clinical experience. I graduated from Cal State University, East Bay in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and in 2020, I earned my Master of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University.
I have a passion for forming meaningful and professional connections with individuals of all ages. My experience ranges from conducting ABA therapy with children aged 4-10 to providing psychotherapy for clients aged 13-65+. I’ve worked with diverse populations, including those in the LGBTQ community, people of color (POC), and individuals with dual diagnoses, focusing on substance abuse and acute mental health diagnoses such as psychotic disorders, personality disorders, developmental disorders, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I also have experience working with couples, individuals, and groups.
I proudly utilize evidence-based practices and interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Psychoeducation, among other valuable tools. I see myself as a collaborative therapist with a client-centered approach, working directly with my clients to co-create their desired lives and align with their self-expectations.
My therapeutic goal is to empower my clients to live the lives they envision. I provide insights and techniques to educate and enhance their self-trust, helping them navigate life's difficulties and obstacles. Of course, I also believe in the importance of taking a moment to “stop and smell the flowers” and embrace those cliches that remind us to appreciate the journey.
