Maria Amador is a compassionate and resourceful bilingual social worker with over six years of experience working with underserved children, youth, and families. She received her Masters of Social Work at California State University Dominguez Hills. She holds an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) credential and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPSC) in School Social Work and Child Welfare Attendance. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Maria specializes in client-centered counseling and bio-psycho-social assessments, with a background in trauma-focused care, anxiety management. 

Maria has a strong focus on helping students navigate anxiety and related emotional challenges within the school environment. Her experience in school social work involves creating tailored interventions to improve student attendance, behavior, and academic performance. She works closely with students and families, addressing social, emotional, and relational factors that impact learning. Through individual and group therapy, Maria equips students with the tools to manage anxiety, build resilience, and foster emotional regulation. Her expertise includes trauma-informed practices such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and crisis intervention. Hola, soy María Amador, una trabajadora social bilingue compasiva e ingeniosa con más de seis años de experiencia trabajando con niños, jóvenes y familias desatendidos. Obtuve mi Maestría en Trabajo Social en la Universidad Estatal de California Dominguez Hills y tengo una credencial de Trabajador Social Clínico Asociado, junto con una Credencial de Servicios de Personal Estudiantil en Trabajo Social Escolar y Asistencia de Bienestar Infantil.

Hablo inglés y español con fluidez y me especializo en asesoramiento centrado en el cliente y evaluaciones biopsicosociales, con una sólida experiencia en atención centrada en el trauma y manejo de la ansiedad.

Mi objetivo es ayudar a los estudiantes a superar la ansiedad y los desafíos emocionales relacionados dentro del entorno escolar. Mi experiencia en trabajo social escolar implica la creación de intervenciones personalizadas para mejorar la asistencia, el comportamiento y el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. Trabajo en estrecha colaboración con estudiantes y familias, abordando los factores sociales, emocionales y relacionales que impactan el aprendizaje. A través de terapia individual y grupal, doto a los estudiantes con las herramientas para manejar la ansiedad, desarrollar resiliencia y fomentar la regulación emocional.

Estoy profundamente comprometido a crear entornos seguros y de apoyo para mis clientes, defender sus necesidades y colaborar con educadores, administradores y socios comunitarios para garantizar su éxito. Además, tengo experiencia trabajando con jóvenes en hogares de acogida y sin hogar, brindándoles apoyo específico para abordar sus desafíos únicos.
